This explains the cookies DateSpots uses and how you control them.

What cookies are

Small files a site stores on your device to remember things between visits — like keeping you signed in.

Essential cookies (always on)

These are needed for the site to work and don’t require consent: your sign-in session, your chosen city and language, and the record of your cookie choice itself.

Analytics (first-party, no cookies)

We run privacy-friendly, first-party analytics to understand what’s working and improve the service. It uses no cookies: an anonymous session identifier is kept in your browser’s session storage and cleared when you close the tab. It is never used for advertising, we set no third-party ad trackers, and we never sell your data. If you’re signed in, we can link this activity to your account to personalise your recommendations — you can turn that off any time in Settings → Privacy, and we’ll keep the analytics anonymous.

Managing your choice

Use the consent banner to choose “Necessary only” or “Accept all”. To see the banner again, clear the “cookie_consent” cookie in your browser settings.

Third parties

We currently set no third-party cookies. If we introduce an analytics provider in future (for example a privacy-friendly, EU-hosted tool such as PostHog), the specific provider and its cookies will be named here, and they will load only with your consent.

Changes

We’ll update this page if our use of cookies changes.
