How The 12 is built
Four cadences, one method.
Velocity-weighted. We surface the spots couples are saving and completing in the last 7 days, normalised so a small spot can outrank a tourist trap.
Hybrid. 60% velocity (last month's signal) + 40% cumulative quality (rating × review depth).
Year-bounded cumulative. Total saves and completions in the calendar year, weighted by couple-completion ratings.
Quality-gated newcomers. Spots added in the last 90 days, rating ≥ 4.0, minimum 3 reviews, sorted by velocity. Older spots can't appear here.
We don't take payment for placement. We don't surface paid spots in any ranking.
